Boone Wins the AGD Stake at Eastern GSP and is a new FIELD CHAMPION!
Boone makes us very proud today, as he becomes Broad Run's FIRST FIELD CHAMPION!! Boone won a 24 dog all breed AGD stake in Medford NJ today, with our fantastic friend Tracy Faber handling him. Boone needed 2 points to finish, and this win gave him 4 points! Boone is our first born, from our first litter. He is out of our beloved Blaze, and his father is Dual Champion Bunker.

Broad Run Vizslas is Recognized as an AKC Breeder of Merit
We are very proud to announce that today Broad Run Vizslas was acknowledged as an AKC Breeder of Merit. The AKC explains this program as; "The Breeder of Merit Program honors breeder/exhibitors' dedication and hard work as they continue to produce dogs that are healthy, capable, and beautiful. The foundation of today's AKC, Breeders of Merit have the power to influence, guide, and teach future breeders, exhibitors, and all purebred dog owners." We are honored to be a part of this program, next to other responsible Vizsla breeders.

Duncan Wins the Open Puppy at DC Weim
Duncan won the Open Puppy Stake at the Weimaraner Club of the Washington DC Area's Fall Field Trial in Clear Spring MD. During his brace Duncan locked on point, and found himself a great big wild hen pheasant!

Duncan took a 2nd place in Open Derby at the DC Weim Fall Field Trial in Clear Spring MD.

Duncan took a 2nd place in Open Derby at the Old Dominion Vizsla Club's Fall Field Trial at Blandfield Plantation in Tappahannock Virginia.
October 4th
Duncan Takes a Third in the VCA National Field Trial's Puppy Stake!
Duncan, his owner/handler Tracy Faber, and her mother drove all the way across the country to run Duncan in the National Open Puppy Stake at Ft. Robinson Nebraska.... and they came home with the 3rd place ribbon! Way to go Tracy and Duncan!
October 2nd
Luna Takes Two Second Places at CVC
Luna went back out in the field today, after being given permission by her vet. She did a nice job, despite that she hasn't been conditioned after being in recovery on the couch for the past two months. Luna took a 2nd place in the AWP stake and also a 2nd place in the AWD at the Conestoga Vizsla Club's Fall Field Trial at Clear Spring Maryland. Her niece Snickers (Tess x Topper) took 3rd in AWD, and her nephew Reece (Tess x Topper) won the AWD stake for his first blue ribbon! Way to go Reece and owner/handler Stephanie Estes!

Duncan, wins the Open Derby and takes a 3rd in the Open Puppy at the Garden State Weimaraner Club's Fall Field Trial in New Jersey. Duncan and Tracy are on a roll!

Duncan Takes a Double Win - First in Open Puppy and Open Derby at MVVC
Duncan, wins the Open Puppy and the Open Derby at the Miami Valley Vizsla Club's Fall Field Trial in Ohio. A great start to this fall field trial season for Duncan and owner/handler Tracy Faber!!

Happy Birthday to Luna, Duncan, Ottla, Caiya, Mia, Rusty and Murphy! We cannot believe you are already a year old - how time flies!!

Luna is Healing
Since her accident in late June, Luna has been slowly but steadily healing. She has regained most of her balance and ability to gait smoothly without falling. Although she still stands crooked, wobbles while standing or sitting still, and favors her left side. She avoids turning to the right if she can. This is common with brain and neck injuries. Only time will tell if she will make it back to 100%. She recently was visited by her Chiropractic and Acupuncture Vet, Dr. Jana Froeling DVM of Full Circle Equine. Dr. Froeling has helped Luna, particularly with the Eastern medicines and other homeopathic remedies that she has prescribed.

Ottla Passes Her Canine Good Citizen Test and Receives Her First Title!
Ottla, handled by her trainer/owner, passed her CGC test today with flying colors! Congratulations to... "Broad Run's Ottilie of Red Oak CGC"! Way to go girls - we are so proud of you!

Ottla Makes Her Show Debut at CVC Specialty
Ottla, along with her novice owner/handler Annabella, take a step into the unknown... they made their show debut together this weekend at the Conestoga Vizsla Club's Specialty Show and did a great job!

Luna Suffers a Life Threatening Injury
Sadly, while exercising the dogs, Luna ran into a hard wire fence at full on "Vizsla speed" and broke her neck. She was nearly paralyzed and is suffering from a severe concussion and extreme vertigo. She can't stand or walk on her own. For now she is on strict rest, until swelling goes down, then we will visit a neurologist. Prayers are much appreciated!!

Luna Takes Best of Winners & Best of Opposite Sex at Her Second Show Weekend!
Today, owner/handled by Michelle, Luna takes BOW and BOS! This was Luna and Michelle's second weekend of showing. We are very proud of our girl.

Luna's First Show Weekend
This weekend Michelle went out of her element and took Luna into the conformation ring. For her first time showing, Luna did a pretty nice job. She took first in her class both days, but we weren't in the points. Showing is a new adventure for both Michelle and Luna. We hope to have success, and some fun as well.

Duncan gets his first field trial ribbon today, by taking 3rd place in a competitive Open Puppy Stake at the Connecticut Valley Vizsla Club!

Luna Takes Fourth in Amateur Walking Puppy at CVVC
Luna took a 4th place in the AWP stake at the CVVC field trial in Connecticut against some very tough competition. Her older puppy cousin, also named Luna (an Octane daughter), won the stake!

Boone's Guided Hunt
Today Boone and Michelle guided a hunting party at Strawberry Hill Farm. Boone located covey after covey, held steady wing to shot and retrieved his birds. We do believe this was the most fun he has ever had!

Today at the Old Dominion Vizsla Club's Spring Field Trial, Luna took 2nd place in the AWP stake. Her niece Finley (Tess x Topper) won the stake. This was the first field trial for these young puppies!!

Ruby x Jaks Puppies Leave to New Homes
The Ruby x Jaks puppies are leaving the nest! Lynn and Smitty have chosen some very nice homes for these dual quality puppies. We hope to get updates from the owners, and to see the pups again soon! Thank you Lynn and Smitty for allowing us to raise these puppies. It was a real honor that you entrusted us with your precious litter. They will always have a special place in our hearts.
