In Loving Memory of BROAD RUN'S BLUE MOON JH
................................................................................................................................................................
We named Luna "Broad Run's Blue Moon" because we believe that like a blue moon, she was a rare occurrence. She was truly one of a kind, and was admittidly Michelle's favorite dog. There was no place Michelle could go without Luna following right there beside. She also was a true dedicated and loving friend to our daughter Shelby. Sadly in December of 2012, we devastatingly lost Luna to being struck by a car while she was lost at night and trying to find her way home. It is an ache in our hearts that will never leave.
Luna was from our long planned breeding of Blaze to Celtic. We desperately wanted a female to keep from that breeding, as it would be Blaze's last before retiring. As a young puppy Luna displayed such a calm and even temperament, and everyone described her as an "old soul". She was an easy puppy to pick, as she picked US - particularly our daughter, by displaying such loving affection and giving her famous "hugs". Luna had a great nose for birds, beautiful structure and movement. She knew every silly trick in the book, and was always looking to please us. She was pointed in both the show ring and the field. At the time of her death she had just completed gun dog training and was ready to reenter field trialing in gun dog stakes.
We miss her terribly. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think of Luna. Wishing we could kiss her beautiful head, stroke her silky soft ears, and look into her soulful eyes...just one more time.
