We knew Cannon was a special dog the day that he was born. There was no particular reason, but from that first day and as that litter grew, Cannon is where everyone's eyes were always drawn. He was special, and we were lucky that he ended up in an extremely special home with Tracy and Joe.
Cannon was one of those dogs that took your breath away when you watched him run in the field. He was a beautiful and smart dog that knew exactly which objectives to hit, how to locate the birds, and pointed them with style! He completed his field trial career as #1 Puppy/Derby in the Nation with 416 points. At home he was a sweetheart, a true and faithful companion to his owners.
Tragically, in July 2009 Cannon was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, that was likely caused by an undiagnosed Valley Fever infection. Unfortunately by the time it was found, his cancer was too progressed and inoperable. He was put to rest on July 28, 2009. We all miss him immensely, but we carry with us the memories that he left.
Chase all the birds you want, and meet us at the Rainbow Bridge. We've dedicated a Video Memorial to Cannon that you can view by clicking here.
